In honour of ….

In a wonderful gesture of gratitude, a number of Old Boys have decided to ‘Take a Seat’ in the Old Boys Lecture Theatre and name them in honour of their Alumni year, parents or past masters. In some instances; brothers, sons & family members have come together to ‘Take a Seat’ in their family’s name.

Some of the seat plaque inscriptions:

  • In Memory of 1947
  • In Honour of Phil Davis OAM (Staff 1951-2000)
  • Mick (ON ’38) and Kath Kelynack
  • Arthur “Snow” Bradley (ON ’32)
  • The Poidevin Family

Your Name in Newington History

There is still an opportunity to secure a seat and a piece of Newington history. Classmates could band together and decide to Take a Seat in honour of their Alumni Year e.g. ‘In Memory of 1963, Centenary Boys’ or ‘GPS Senior Athletics Champions 1978’.

It is important to reflect the great history of the College and acknowledge the various groups in the Newington community.

‘Your’ chosen seat will be clearly identified with an individual seat plaque and recognised on an Honour Board as you enter the theatre. A tax deductible gift of $4,000 or more can be paid in the current financial year or by instalments and will secure one of the seats still available.

The seats and Honour Board will be unveiled at a special event on Friday 7 March 2014, to which all donors will be invited. We look forward to you being able to join us on the day.

Please contact the Development Office on 02 9568 9374 or email development@newington.nsw.edu.au to make an enquiry or for further information.
