Newington College new Director of Development
From the Headmaster, Dr David Mulford.
I am delighted to announce that Rod Bosman (ON ’78) has been appointed as Director of Development. He commenced duties 14 October 2013. His portfolio covers ONU, Alumni, Development, Fundraising, Archives, Facility Hire and the Foundation.
Rod has a demonstrated passion for Newington. He has been a Newington parent, a President of the P&F, a President of the Rugby Support Group, a Councillor of the ONU and a member of the Centennial Trust. This year he has done an outstanding job as Chairman of the Sesquicentenary Committee. All of these roles have been voluntary and all done with great dedication, commitment, talent and zest.
Rod was for twenty years a Chartered Accountant by profession and has been involved in a number of business operations and voluntary organizations at a senior level. His support team as Director of Development is as follows:
- ONU and 70 Club – Mylee Angelo
- Development, Foundation and Alumni – Mona De Araujo
- Archives – David Roberts and a squad of volunteers
I look forward to working closely with Rod with his most crucial portfolio areas.

Complete our Chapel
The Newington College Chapel has always been a peaceful place of reflection and inspiration for the Newington community. Over the years as people have gathered for special occasions, to celebrate new life and remember those who have passed on, it has become apparent that our Chapel is in need of new seating to complement the beauty of the rest of the space. In an effort to revitalise the Chapel, Newington has decided to install new, hand-crafted Golden Oak timber pews. Already a number of Old Boys have pledged their support in helping us to complete our Chapel.
Each moveable seat is approximately 2.4m long and allows for five people to sit comfortably. In order to fully refurnish the Chapel and seat 350 people, a total of 70 pews are needed. Each pew will cost $1950 and donors will also have the option of a naming dedication for their purchased pew.
If you are interested in helping us complete our Chapel with new, beautiful seating please contact Reverend David Williams (email dwilliams@newington.nsw.edu.au) or Pastor Michael Bennett (email mpjbennett@newington.nsw.edu.au) or complete the form below or donate online at our payments gateway at http://www.newington.nsw.edu.au/payments/make-a-payment/ and choose the Alumni and ONU payments option.
